Winding Down

The summer is winding down and autumn is right around the corner. We at Maggies are busy preparing for our big Labor Day Arts & Crafts fair and Harmony Weekend. Stop in and see our new items. For those of you that have been asking, our lunch bags in the new styles will be in this week. They have proven to be extremely popular so hurry in before they sell out. Our lighted flowers should (hopefully) be in next week. I'll be calling all the people that are on the waiting list. Make sure to have a look at our new gorgeous hand blown glass vases (made in the USA)! And of course, new jewelry and fall hoodies and vests. Still carrying all the latest styles of flat wallets. I've carried flat wallets from the first day I've opened my shop and they are still going strong. The store is full of new merchandise and our prices are always reasonable.

No, this isn't a monthly wine club. It's much cooler. The Duffer Bob Wine Club is a golf lover's wine holder and collectible. My Poor Neglected Blog

It seems like forever since I've last posted a blog entry. The truth is where I have been for the last week is probably the last place on earth to get internet service. Or Nextel service!

I've been to Minneapolis, MN to market. Now Minneapolis has all the modern conveniences that I've grown accustom to and love. But I only spent 2 nights there and by the time I finally got back to my hotel room after 2 very, very long days of standing on my feet, going from show room to show room trying to pick out some new and exciting items to bring home to the shop, and fighting the bumper to bumper traffic, I was so worn out that all I could think about was the king sized bed in my room and a remote control for the television.

The other 5 days were spent on a much needed vacation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The scenery was gorgeous and the mosquitoes were out by the thousands. The weather was perfect and the leaves were changing. I love it up there but no Nextel or internet quite frankly drove me crazy. It really opened my eyes to see how much I've become "attached" to my modern day means of communication. By the number of emails and voice mails, it was clear to see that my friends and family are attached to these modern day means of communication also.

But I do have to say that I enjoyed my vacation immensely! I've found some really nice new lines to bring to the shop. I'm so excited to get them in, hopefully the will arrive before Labor Day weekend.

I'll Be Gone For A Week

I'm going to the Minneapolis Gift Show to pick up some exciting new lines for fall and winter. I'll be leaving the shop in good hands. Come in and say hello to Lee. I'll see you all next week!
